10 Tools Every Girl Should Own.
As a self-proclaimed handy gal, I have a garage full of mostly hand-me-down tools that have helped me immensely in all my projects. Although there are many, many more I would love to add to my collection (drill press, Kreg jig, router, just to name a few), I have gathered a list of essential tools I think every girl should own in order to do her own projects. After scanning my garage, and reviewing in my mind the past few years of projecting, I have narrowed it down to the most used and needed tools. All of these can be purchased for less than $50 a piece, and likely you can snag the whole lot for under $200 collectively! That’s all you will need to accomplish quite a bit of projects. What are you waiting for? Run, don’t walk to your nearest Home Depot or local hardware store to snag your loot! Now, without further ado:
- Handheld cordless drill
- Drill bit set
- Circular saw
- Tape measure
- Stud finder
- Palm sander
- Carpenters square
- Screw driver set
My #1 always has been and always will be my cordless drill. I use that sucker more than any other tool I own. I swear, I am using it a few times a week not just for planned projects, but for other little fixes that come up unexpectedly. To pair perfectly with that is the drill bit set. This is inclusive of not only different sizes of flat head and Philips head tips, but also drill bits themselves! You will find more uses for these than you think; I promise, you won’t be disappointed you purchased them.
Although I think all of the above are incredibly necessary to own, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 are the other “must have’s.” My sweet Dad bought me my first tool kit when I purchased my first house eight years ago. Included in it were all the items I just mentioned. Of course, my go-to store is always Home Depot- a scared place I’ve loved since I was tiny! Oh I digress, but I promise you, these few items will help you get through so many projects. Before you know it, your boyfriend or roommates will be asking to use your tools too!
If you have any specific questions, leave comment! I love to help out my ladies interested in being more handy and independent!
Bye for now babes,
